ASR Lab

A scientific institution for the molecular age

Advancing molecular science as an enduring institution.

ASR Lab is built on four reinforcing pillars — Discovery, Infrastructure, Capability, and Knowledge. Together they form an institution designed to make rigorous molecular science more powerful, more explainable, and more widely shared.

The bottleneck

The constraint on discovery has shifted from data to reasoning.

Sequencing has become inexpensive. Storage is abundant. Models are powerful. Yet researchers must still determine which biomarker matters, which candidate deserves validation, and which experiment should be performed next.

ASR Lab exists to close that gap — not with artificial intelligence for its own sake, but with computational reasoning that serves scientific judgement.

How the institution compounds

The Scientific Flywheel.

Each pillar produces knowledge that accelerates the others. Discovery deepens knowledge; knowledge trains capability; capability and infrastructure enable collaboration; collaboration returns to discovery — with data and CIRRA at the centre.

Data & CIRRA

Reasoning over accumulated data is the accelerant at the centre of the loop.

CIRRA

circRNA Reasoning and Research Agent

CIRRA is an intelligent research platform dedicated to circular RNA biomarker discovery. Its purpose is not simply to analyse datasets — it is to reason through scientific evidence.

CIRRA is the flagship programme within our Discovery pillar — the clearest expression of how the institution turns molecular data into explainable discovery.

Explore CIRRA
  • circRNA candidate ranking

Prioritise circular RNA candidates by biological and statistical relevance.

  • Biomarker prioritisation

Surface the biomarkers most likely to warrant experimental validation.

  • Literature synthesis

Aggregate and reconcile evidence across the published record.

  • Biological pathway reasoning

Situate candidates within known regulatory and disease pathways.

  • Protocol recommendation

Recommend wet-lab protocols suited to a given candidate and context.

  • Validation guidance

Guide the design of wet-laboratory validation experiments.

  • Explainable recommendations

Present each conclusion alongside the evidence that supports it.

  • Reproducible reporting

Generate reports that others can inspect and reproduce.

Scientific philosophy

What we believe.

  • 01Scientific progress depends upon reasoning.
  • 02Reasoning depends upon evidence.
  • 03Evidence should be transparent.
  • 04AI should augment scientists rather than replace them.
  • 05Biology should become increasingly computational.
  • 06Automation should follow understanding.
  • 07Every recommendation should be explainable.
  • 08Scientific credibility is more important than marketing.
